AI visibility for hotels
Get your hotel recommended when guests ask AI where to stay
Guests now ask an assistant before they open a booking site. It names a handful of hotels and often links to an online travel agent. We make sure yours is one of them, and that the assistant can find your own website.
Why it matters
The shortlist is written before the guest reaches a booking site
When a traveller asks ChatGPT "where should we stay in Dubai Marina with kids?" or asks Gemini "which hotels near the convention centre are good for a business trip?", the assistant searches the web, reads a small number of pages, and writes a shortlist. It doesn't show twenty results. It picks three to five hotels and explains why.
The hotels it picks aren't always the best ones. They're the ones it could understand most easily: clear facts about the property, pages that answer the exact question, and mentions on the travel guides it trusts. A good hotel with a slow, image-heavy website and its policies buried in a PDF can be invisible in that answer.
That's fixable, and the fixes are mostly on your own website, where you keep the benefit.
Is there a dog-friendly hotel near the old town with parking?
Yes, a few. The Larkspur welcomes dogs in garden rooms and has on-site parking. Saltwind House allows small dogs; parking is nearby.
What we usually find
Why good hotels get left out of AI answers
Six patterns that come up again and again in hotel websites and listings.
No hotel data on the website
Many hotel sites describe themselves to machines as a generic web page. Nothing says this is a 4-star hotel, where it is, or that it has a pool, parking and family rooms.
Policies hidden in PDFs and images
Pet policy, parking, accessibility and check-in times sit in PDFs, photos or the booking engine, where assistants can't read them reliably.
Heavy pages that load slowly
Full-screen photo sliders and video headers can push a homepage past 5 MB. On a phone the main content can take over four seconds to appear.
Missing from the guides AI cites
Assistants lean on two or three travel guides and tourism sites for each area. If you're not there, you rarely make the answer.
Group, hotel and restaurant names that don't connect
A hotel, its restaurant and its parent group under different names, with nothing on the sites linking them, confuses assistants.
Booking sites quoted instead of you
When the answer cites an online travel agent rather than your website, the guest arrives somewhere you pay commission.
What good looks like
The hotel AI visibility checklist
This is the checklist we work through for every property. Most hotels have two or three of these in place. Very few have all of them.
- Hotel structured data on the property page: type, address, map location, phone, star rating, check-in and check-out times, and price range
- Amenities and policies in machine-readable form: pool, spa, parking, pets, accessibility, family rooms, airport transfer
- An answer section for each high-value question: "Is it good for families?", "How far is the beach?", "Is there parking?"
- A light, fast property page whose main content appears within 2.5 seconds on a phone
- AI crawlers allowed in robots.txt, and an llms.txt summarising the property and its key pages
- Consistent details everywhere: the same name, address and phone on the site, Google Business Profile and every listing
- A presence on the sources the assistants cite for your area: the right travel guides, tourism sites and review platforms
- Group structure made explicit: each property linked to the group, and restaurants and spas linked to their hotel
How we work with hotels
From a single boutique hotel to a group
STEP 01
Free check
We agree up to ten guest questions per property and run them through five assistants from the property's location. You see every answer, who was named and which sources were used.
STEP 02
Fixed-price fixes
Hotel data, answer sections, speed, crawler access and listing gaps, quoted per property before we start. Most of the on-site work is done within two to four weeks.
STEP 03
Monthly tracking
The same questions every month, a one-page summary for the group and each property, and the next fixes agreed with you.
The direct-booking angle
When an assistant answers a "where to stay" question, it often cites an online travel agent as its source, and the link a guest clicks goes there. Each of those bookings carries commission.
Getting your own property page cited instead doesn't remove the booking platforms, and it shouldn't. It means the assistant's description of you comes from you, and the guest has a direct route to your website when they want it.
Groups and multiple properties
Groups have an extra problem: assistants need to understand which hotel is which, and how the group, the hotels and their restaurants relate. We give each property its own structured record, link them to the group, and check each one against its own local questions.
The monthly summary shows every property on one page, so you can see which hotel needs attention first.
Why does ChatGPT recommend other hotels instead of ours?
Usually because it found clearer information about them. Their pages answer the guest's question, their details are machine-readable, and they appear on the travel guides the assistant trusts for your area. A hotel can be missing even when its restaurant or bar is well known, because the assistant is answering a different question.
Isn't being on Booking.com and Tripadvisor enough?
They help, because assistants read them. But when an answer cites a booking site instead of your own website, the guest lands somewhere you pay commission, and the platform's description of you is the one the assistant repeats. We work on both: your listings, and your own site as a source the assistant can quote.
We have several properties. Do you check each one?
Yes. Each property gets its own questions for its own area, because a family resort and a city business hotel compete for different answers. The group gets one summary showing where each hotel stands and what to fix first.
Which guest questions do you test?
The ones that lead to bookings: best boutique hotel in an area, where to stay for a weekend, family or dog-friendly hotels, hotels near a landmark or venue, romantic stays, business trips, and value. We agree the list with you before we start, and keep it fixed so monthly results are comparable.
Will this conflict with our booking engine or channel manager?
No. We work on your website content, structured data and listings. Your booking engine, channel manager and rate strategy stay as they are.
How is it priced?
A fixed price per property for the initial fixes, quoted in writing within 48 hours of the free check, then a smaller monthly fee for tracking. Groups get one quote for all properties.
